OpenAI puts GPT-6 and Intelligent UI inside every ChatGPT tier, turning the chat box into a workbench
Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users all now get interactive charts, forms and on-demand mini-tools inside ordinary ChatGPT conversations.
OpenAI began rolling out GPT-6 and a feature it calls Intelligent UI on October 7, pushing it first to Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, then expanding to Free and Go users on October 8. Within 24 hours, TechCrunch reports, the update had reached more than 1.2 billion weekly ChatGPT users.
The headline change isn’t the model number. It’s what the model is now allowed to render. ChatGPT replies can include graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, diagrams and other interactive experiences, generated inline from a library of native, streamable components fed through a compiler that builds the interface as the model writes it. In OpenAI’s own demos, surfaced by BetaNews, that means a game played right in the chat thread, a savings projection calculator, and a tool for dividing a restaurant check among friends.
“the most helpful answers aren’t just text,” said Aarush Selvan, a product manager at OpenAI.
The tier logic is tidy. Paid seats get GPT-6 Sol; Free and Go get GPT-6 Luna; both live in the Chat tab, not the Work tab or Codex. OpenAI also says GPT-6 Instant starts answering questions requiring web search 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant.
For the owner of a one-to-four-person business, the practical shift is quieter than the product video suggests but larger than it looks. The same free chat window that was already drafting cold emails now ships back a working qualification form, a side-by-side offer comparison, or a pricing calculator as a usable artifact in the thread. Work that previously meant exporting a draft into a second tool, or paying for one, collapses into a single session.
A caveat for Business seats: availability depends on workspace admin settings, so anyone planning to use Intelligent UI in client-facing work should confirm it’s switched on before building a workflow around it.
The broader pattern is familiar from the 2010s mobile era, when the browser quietly absorbed functions that used to require installed software. ChatGPT is now doing the same thing to the long tail of lightweight SaaS: not replacing the category, but making its most common jobs a prompt away.
