Wix hands its AI agents a wallet, with a 10-minute approval window for the owner
Symphony by Wix has connected Stripe's Link wallet, letting its agents pay suppliers, restock inventory, and secure sales-channel entry fees after the owner approves each purchase by WhatsApp or SMS.
Wix announced on October 15, 2026 that Symphony by Wix, the multi-agent system it launched in August, now plugs into Link, Stripe’s digital wallet, so its agents can actually pay for things on an owner’s behalf. The agent never sees the card. Each transaction runs on a single-use token capped at the approved amount, and the owner has a 10-minute window to approve the charge over WhatsApp or SMS. The market read it as a shift in what Symphony is for: WIX closed up 7.3% at $79.55, though still 45.3% below the $145.54 high it set a year earlier.
Until now, agentic small-business tools have mostly been research assistants with a to-do list attached. They could spot an expiring farmers-market application, flag that a candle shop’s best-selling scent had dropped below five units, or surface a bad review before it hardened into churn. They couldn’t close the loop. The owner still had to find a card, type a number, hit send. That’s the gap Symphony is trying to erase, and it’s the same gap behind recent moves like TikTok collapsing discovery and checkout for small B2C brands and Meta pointing its Muse agent at 200 million small businesses.
The scenarios Wix is pitching are telling. A market application closes in three days, Symphony pays the entry fee. A two-star review lands, the agent sends a complimentary gift card the same day. A supplier invoice arrives, it gets matched and settled. Each is a last-mile customer-growth task that normally dies in a browser tab.
“Since launch, Symphony has been built to act on behalf of business owners, not just advise them. Connecting Link is the last mile of that promise. An agent that can find an overdue invoice or an expiring grant deadline is useful. An agent that can get it paid, with the owner’s approval and inside clear limits, is a teammate,” said Ronny Elkayam, COO of Wix.
Stripe is framing it the same way. “People start businesses to solve problems and serve customers. Routine tasks like ordering supplies and paying bills take valuable time away from that work. With Link’s wallet for agents, Symphony can handle more of those tasks, giving business owners more time to focus on what matters most to them,” said Jay Shah, business lead for Link at Stripe.
The ambient data is less flattering. McKinsey’s 2025 Digital Payments Survey, cited by Wix, found that only 20% of consumers are comfortable letting an AI make a purchase on their behalf. Wix is betting that owners trusting AI with their own checkout will move faster than consumers trusting it with theirs. The 10-minute SMS tap is the hedge against being wrong.
