Agentforce hits $1.5B ARR as Salesforce pitches small B2B teams on agentic sales
Salesforce's Q2 FY27 earnings show AI-prepared sales work moving from experiment to standard infrastructure — and a September open beta for Claudeforce will put 37 prebuilt sales skills in reach of small teams already on the CRM.
Salesforce reported Q2 FY27 earnings on August 26, 2026, and buried inside the usual choreography of beats and guides was the number the market has been waiting eighteen months to see: Agentforce ARR crossed $1.5 billion, up more than 240% year over year. Shares rose 18% on Thursday.
The rest of the print made the case that agentic software isn’t a demo line item anymore. Combined Agentforce and Data 360 ARR reached nearly $3.9 billion, growing over 210% year over year. Salesforce says it has delivered 7.0 billion Agentic Work Units across Agentforce and Slack to date, with 3.2 billion of those in Q2 alone, a 97% quarter-over-quarter jump. Bookings from Agentforce One Edition and Agentforce for Apps more than doubled sequentially. Adjusted EPS came in at $5.90 against a Wall Street consensus of $3.27; revenue of $11.35 billion cleared the $11.32 billion bar.
CEO Marc Benioff, who has spent the year fielding a running argument that foundation-model vendors will eat vertical SaaS from the inside, took the direct route on the call. “This is not the SaaSpocalypse.”
The counter-argument, or perhaps the hedge, arrived the same day. Salesforce and Anthropic unveiled Claudeforce, a plugin that embeds Salesforce customer data, workflows, and business logic inside Claude. It ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills covering meeting preparation, deal health review, and pipeline management. A pilot cohort has access now; open beta is expected in September 2026, with more detail promised at Investor Day and Dreamforce on Wednesday, September 16. It’s a striking pivot from a company that spent the last year insisting its own runtime was the point, and it echoes the strategic reframing covered here yesterday: meet sellers where they already work.
For a five-to-thirty-person B2B team, the practical read is that meeting prep, pipeline triage, and deal-health scoring are now shrink-wrapped skills rather than integration projects. What Salesforce didn’t disclose matters just as much: Claudeforce pricing, seat minimums, and which Salesforce editions the beta will reach. Those omissions are the entire small-business question, and they’ll be answered in three weeks or they won’t.
The Agentforce number resolves one debate. Dreamforce will decide who actually gets to use it.
